Biography

Johnny Mundt, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the 2024 League Year, has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. Entering his seventh season in the NFL and third with the Vikings in 2024, Mundt was originally signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in May of 2017. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Rams (2017-21) before signing with the Vikings in March of 2022. During the 2023 season, Mundt played in all 17 of the Vikings games, recording a single-season career-high 172 receiving yards on 17 catches. He also posted single-game career bests in both receptions (five) and receiving yards (58) at Detroit in Week 18 (1/7/24), and his 32-yard catch at the end of the first quarter marked the second-longest reception of his career. A native of Modesto, Calif., Mundt has appeared in 81 regular-season contests in his NFL tenure, tallying 405 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 46 catches. He has also seen action in six postseason games, including five with the Rams (2018, 2020) and one with the Vikings (2022).
