EAGAN, Minn. — Start spreading the news.

The 2024 Minnesota Vikings regular-season schedule will open with a visit to the New York Giants.

The Week 1 game is scheduled for noon (CT) Sept. 8 at MetLife Stadium.

It starts a run of four consecutive Vikings games and 12 total that are scheduled for noon (CT) on Sundays.

Minnesota will open its home slate in Week 2 by hosting defending NFC Champion San Francisco on Sept. 15 at U.S. Bank Stadium and remain in town the following week to host the Houston Texans on Sept. 22. Click here for information about single-game tickets.

The Vikings have played the Texans fewer times (five) than any other foe. But a heavy dose of familiarity is in store the following week when Minnesota visits Green Bay in Week 4.

As revealed earlier Wednesday, the Vikings will face the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in Week 5 for a contest that will start at 8:30 a.m. (CT) before the team's bye week occurs in Week 6.

In Week 7, the Vikings will host the Detroit Lions on Oct. 20, then make a quick recovery for a road game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 24. Scheduled for 7:15 p.m. (CT), that Thursday Night Football contest will reconnect Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Rams Head Coach Sean McVay for the first time since they worked together to win Super Bowl LVI.

Five of Minnesota's first seven games in 2024 are against teams that made the playoffs last season.

Minnesota will then close out its slate against AFC South foes in three consecutive weeks, hosting the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 3 and visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 10 and Tennessee Titans on Nov. 17.

The Vikings will be on the road again in Week 12 when they visit the Chicago Bears on Nov. 24. It will be the first time for Minnesota to have road games in three consecutive weeks since 2017.

A three-game homestand against the Arizona Cardinals (Dec. 1), Atlanta Falcons (Dec. 8) and Chicago Bears (Dec. 16 on Monday Night Football) will follow.

The Vikings will then visit the Seattle Seahawks for a 3:05 p.m. (CT) contest on Dec. 22.

Week 1 at New York Giants: This will be just the second time the Vikings have ever opened a season at the Giants. The first time was 1969 when former (1961-66) and future (1972-78) Vikings QB Fran Tarkenton rallied the Giants to a 24-23 victory at Yankee Stadium.

Minnesota responded by winning the next 10 games. The Purple People Eaters didn't allow any other opponent to score more than 14 that season. The Vikings built off that momentum to win the Western Conference and NFL Championships on the way to facing the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV.

Week 2 vs. San Francisco 49ers: The Vikings have won eight consecutive games as the host in this series, going back to Dec. 26, 1994. Four of the 49ers past five trips to Minnesota have occurred in September, including in 2009 with Favre to Lewis and the 2018 season-opener. The lone exception was last October's Monday Night Football meetup that featured two touchdown catches by Jordan Addison and two interceptions by Camryn Bynum.

View photos from every regular season game the Vikings have played in London over the years.

Week 3 vs. Houston Texans: Minnesota (5-0) is one of two teams (Philadelphia is 6-0) who enter 2024 undefeated against Houston. This will be just the third trip by the Texans to Minnesota and second to U.S. Bank Stadium. The last time the Vikings hosted the Texans, new Houston additions Stefon Diggs (did not play) and Danielle Hunter were with the Purple.

Week 4 at Green Bay Packers: This will be the earliest trip across the border by Minnesota since 2019. The Vikings prevailed last October but suffered an Achilles injury to a key player for the second time in as many visits to Lambeau Field (Brian O'Neill in 2022 and Kirk Cousins in 2023).

Week 5 vs. New York Jets (London): The Vikings have won the past three games against the Jets and will try to remain undefeated when visiting the United Kingdom (3-0 in regular-season games).

Week 6 Bye: This is the earliest a bye has fallen for Minnesota since Week 6 in 2016.

Week 7 vs. Detroit Lions: The home-and-away in this series will start in Minnesota for the fifth consecutive season.

Week 8 at Los Angeles Rams: The Vikings will visit the Rams on a Thursday for the second time all-time. Unlike the previous trip to the West Coast that was hosted at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum (Sept. 27, 2018), this one will be at SoFi Stadium.

Week 9 vs. Indianapolis Colts: It took an NFL-record 33-point comeback, but the Vikings snapped a six-game losing streak to the Colts when the teams last met (Dec. 17, 2022) to secure the NFC North crown.

Week 10 at Jacksonville Jaguars: The Vikings will make just their third trip to Jacksonville and try to improve to 3-0 as a guest and 7-1 overall in the series.

Week 11 at Tennessee Titans: After hosting joint practices and a preseason contest with Tennessee last summer, Minnesota will visit Music City for the first time since the 2016 season opener, a 25-16 win sparked by two defensive touchdowns.

Week 12 at Chicago Bears: The new-look Bears will try to snap a four-game home losing streak to the Vikings.

Tickets for home games at U.S. Bank Stadium for the 2024 season are now available.

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals: Minnesota's 11-game home win streak against Arizona is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Week 14 vs. Atlanta Falcons: Minnesota will face Kirk Cousins on an opposite sideline for the first time since 2017, the year before the quarterback joined the Vikings as a free agent.

Week 15 vs. Chicago Bears: Like the 2021 season, Minnesota will face Chicago twice in the span of four weeks. Assuming no schedule changes, this will be the fourth time in five seasons for the teams to play each other on Monday Night Football.

Week 16 at Seattle Seahawks: The Vikings will try to win in the Pacific Northwest for the first time since 2006 when Chester Taylor rumbled 95 yards and Kevin Williams recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Minnesota has gone 0-5 in the contests there that have followed.

Week 17 vs. Green Bay Packers: Minnesota has gone 0-4 in games against Green Bay that have been in December or January since 2019.

Week 18 at Detroit Lions: The Vikings will play a regular-season finale on the road for the fourth time since 2020 and conclude a campaign at the Lions for the third time in that span.

Preseason 1 vs. Las Vegas Raiders: The Raiders last visited Minnesota for a preseason game in 2015 when the teams met at the University of Minnesota.

Preseason 2 at Cleveland Browns: This will be Minnesota's first trip to Cleveland for a preseason contest since 1999.

Preseason 3 at Philadelphia Eagles: The Vikings twice visited the Eagles in Hershey, Pennsylvania, for preseason contests (1963-64) but have never played an exhibition game in Philadelphia. The teams also met in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to open the 1967 preseason.
